HR Business Partner

Based at Shrivenham

Our client is seeking a highly experienced and assertive HR Business Partner with working knowledge of employment law. Supporting a workforce of 260, your duties as a HR Business Partner will consist of the following:

Day-to-day responsibilities for the HR Business Partner…

Providing advice to line managers with regards to all HR policies, procedures and systems, acting as a coach to them upon the implementation of new strategies and approaches

To work with line managers in developing targeted recruitment campaigns and being responsible for any grading assessment. Where required, to assist with shortlisting and selection interviewing.

Ensure that the probation procedures are carried out correctly by line managers, responding proactively when concerns are apparent.

Assist staff in their application for particular benefits, e.g. flexible working, liaising with the line manager as appropriate, and processing any relevant instruction/documentation.

Support line managers in the management of grievances and disciplinary cases.  To carry out investigations, produce investigation reports and prepare all process documentation, presenting cases, acting as note-taker, or being a panel member as required.

Manage the Annual Review and PDR Processes by providing support, advice and guidance to the Head of Centre/Department and Line Managers. Produce all necessary paperwork.

Contribute to the discussions in the Pay Review meetings.

Provide accurate statistical/management information reports/KPI reports through the Agresso system as required.  To carry out analysis, evaluation and interpretation of the results to identify trends and necessary follow up actions.

Undertake job evaluations for posts providing advice to line managers and staff on composing and submitting promotion cases and whether new job content/responsibilities would warrant grading at the next level.   

Managing employee relations from disciplinaries and grievances, inductions and new starters, maternity and paternity leave to annual pay reviews, redundancies and occupational health issues

Desired skills and experience of the HR Business Partner…

Educated to degree level (or with equivalent experience) and CIPD qualified

Confidence in a client-facing, HR generalist position

Comfortable handling sometimes difficult situations and carrying out formal meetings regarding said situations

Able to manage multiple and often conflicting workloads, successfully prioritising deadlines to meet targets
