Main Objectives

To provide a high quality rental service to meet customer requirements and promote the company's services and products. Supervise all staff at your location and ensure they are trained correctly and adhere to company policy.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Handle all telephone enquiries in a polite and helpful manner. Adhere to the company's high standard in telephone techniques.
  • To promote the company's products and services to all potential customers, both in the branch and on sales calls.
  • To secure all potential reservations, meeting individual customer requirements.
  • To perform vehicle handover to customer informing them of all relevant vehicle information, obtaining their signature to certify hire, recording damage and fuel.
  • To complete all rental administration accurately, according to the company's policy and release vehicles only when all correct documentation is completed.
  • To provide a high level of customer service in all customer contact situations.
  • To carry out or direct to be carried out an end-of-day fleet check each day, and to send in a weekly fleet check to head office each Friday and report all errors forthwith.
  • To ensure the accurate completion of all vehicle documentation such as that relating to vehicle movements, damage, new vehicles and sale vehicles, and the rental agreement, and to recharge all damage to the customer responsible.
  • To deliver and collect vehicles to customer's specific requirements, charging a fee.
  • All responsibilities and duties of Cleaner/Checker/Driver, Rental Agent and Rental Supervisor, and any other reasonable duty as requested by the Area Manager or Director.
  • All daily banking transactions to be checked and confirmed. All other paperwork to be completed in an accurate way and be sent to head office in a timely fashion.
  • To ensure vehicles are serviced (and MOTed) in accordance with makers schedule and that vehicles are roadworthy prior to release to customer.
  • To understand and to follow all operational procedures and work instructions applicable to the job.
  • To maintain a high quality of customer service.
  • To maintain high levels of accuracy in all administration.
  • To drive company vehicles with care and obey all traffic regulations.
  • To ensure all and any premises under your control are clean and tidy at all times.
  • To ensure a safe working environment exists, to be responsible for Health & Safety, and to recommend changes to the Area Manager or Director.
  • Responsibility for the security of staff, vehicles, cash and premises.
  • To ensure budgets are met.
  • Under NO circumstance must a vehicle be left unlocked or with the keys in its ignition at any time that the vehicle is left unattended.

    Personal Essential Requirements

  • A FULL British Driving licence free from major convictions.
  • Proven customer service skills.
  • Professionalism with a smart and presentable appearance.
  • Enthusiasm and a positive attitude.
  • Ability to work well in a team.
  • Good communication and leadership skills.
  • A confident, polite telephone manner.
  • Computer literacy.
  • Experience of operating computerized reservation systems.

    Personal Desirable Requirements

  • Sales experience.
  • Previous experience in a similar role.
