Administrator/Purchaser

A unique opportunity to join a successful and rapidly growing investment company. As a result of the company's success, we are looking to diversify our business and we are looking for an entrepreneurial self-starter to join one of our new portfolio entities.

The company you will join works with Housing Associations specialising in providing high-quality supported living homes. You will be in charge of placing orders for replacement furniture for the tenants. You will also be responsible for a national network of cleaners for each property. These tenants are vulnerable adults who are now living in their own home for the first time, so it is very important that the properties are furnished and cleaned to a high standard. As a result the role has a significant positive social impact.

The nature of the role will be administrative at first - but if you work hard and do well you will take the lead in growing the business. The business is starting from scratch, so the growth opportunities are significant - it's in your hands.

Location: Milton Keynes, UK

Starting salary: £20,000 per year

The role responsibilities are:

  • Place orders for replacement furniture to be used in supported living homes.
  • Take responsibility for a national network of cleaners, ensuring each property is cleaned at the right time.
  • Take ownership of the role - you will be working autonomously.
  • Suggest and implement new processes or strategies to improve the efficiency of the company and ultimately grow the firm.
  • Develop a good understanding of the property portfolio and the requirements for the properties.

The role requirements are:

  • Excellent organisational skills
  • Self-starter - must be able to work with autonomy
  • Solid business and commercial acumen
  • Experience in a professional or office based role
  • Previous experience at a Housing Association preferred
  • IT literate
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Determined and driven to grow the business
  • Excellent communication skills with close attention to detail
  • Awareness of social housing issues and a desire to have a positive social impact
  • Positive attitude
